RNLI

Date: 7 hours ago
City: Poole
Contract type: Full time
About Us

Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. For 200 years, our incredible lifeboat crews and lifeguards have shown selfless courage to rescue those in peril on the water. They are supported by a dedicated, professional, and talented team behind the scenes. This is your chance to join that team and use your unique skills to help save lives every day.

The Role

This isn't just another data role; it's a career-defining opportunity to shape how the RNLI uses information to power our life-saving mission. As our Strategic Data Transformation Lead, you will be accountable for both the successful delivery of our most critical data programmes and the thoughtful, people-focused change required to unlock their potential.

This isn't about transforming data in isolation; it's about transforming our ability to save lives. The insights you help to surface will inform everything from our crew's training and equipment to our public safety campaigns and fundraising efforts. You will be at the helm of large, cross-functional data workstreams—overseeing everything from migration and integration to reporting—while shaping the change strategy that ensures our new platforms empower our people to make smarter, faster decisions when it matters most.

Some of the benefits

  • Salary: £62,623 to £73,674 (dependent on experience)
  • Up to an exceptional 16% employer pension contribution
  • Flexible working and a culture that values work-life balance
  • 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Life assurance
  • Excellent health and dental cashplan

About You

We think you’ll be an ambitious and collaborative leader, ready to take the next step in your career. You have a real passion for delivering complex data projects and, just as importantly, for bringing people on the journey with you.

We imagine you'll bring a blend of the following skills and experiences:

  • A background in managing or playing a key leadership role in large-scale data workstreams as part of a major transformation programme.
  • A natural ability to unite and motivate diverse, matrixed teams of technical and business staff.
  • A strong understanding of the full data lifecycle in a project context, from migration and integration to data quality.
  • A talent for shaping and delivering the "people side" of change, with skills in stakeholder engagement, communications, or training.
  • An aptitude for presenting complex technical and strategic issues in a simple, human-centred way to a wide range of audiences.

If you are a pragmatic problem-solver, ready to apply your delivery skills to a strategic challenge where the outcome is measured in lives saved, we would love to hear from you.
