Role Overview

The Quality Engineer will drive the quality management system within Subsea craft while supporting the Production and Procurement Teams and will have exposure to all areas of the business.

Responsibilities Include

  • Reporting into the Quality Manager and supporting the Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing Teams.
  • Planning and conducting internal audits, to maintain our ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
  • Drive continual improvement throughout the business.
  • Develop, implement and monitor quality control processes and procedures for manufacturing operations.
  • Investigate Production non-conformance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support production staff on quality control procedures.
  • Gain an in depth understanding of the design and manufacturing documentation in order to monitor and ensure that the production processes are implemented correctly.
  • Maintain quality standards for supplier materials and components in accordance with Engineering definition and conduct supplier audits/assessments to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics with supply chain and reporting systems.
  • Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to address quality-related customer concerns.
  • Monitor quality issues and logging process (Incident and observation reporting system)
  • Working with design engineering to establish suitable standards of quality for products in accordance with applicable legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pass information clearly and accurately.
  • Have the ability to meet set deadlines and to understand when problems need to be referred upwards.
  • Have the ability to organise and present information clearly, concisely and accurately.
  • Strong leadership, motivational and mediation skills, and the ability to take initiative without guidance
  • Exemplary “internal” and “external” customer service and strong interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable - maintaining established process whilst initiating and driving change and efficiencies.
  • Collaborative and proactive / 'can-do’ working style.

Required

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Internal Auditor Trained
  • Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality management within the manufacturing industry, preferably in marine manufacturing
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Lead Auditor Trained
  • Engineering related degree.

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.*
