SDUK's brands include the Nation’s favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.
This position has a key role within the site food safety and quality management team, tracking and monitoring data to identify and escalate any trends to key stakeholders.
The role will cover data from customer complaints, micro testing (with on-site and external assessments), and ensure accurate management of documentation and records on internal systems and through external portals and have responsibility for communicating information with external auditors (BRC/retailers).
You’ll manage and document the site food safety and quality management systems, ensure systems and procedures in place facilitate the production of safe, legal, and authentic products to the specified quality and food safety standards and take a leadership role in driving the adherence to the food safety agenda.

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…
- Maintaining food safety and QMS in line with group standards and relevant retailer requirements
- Conducting verification activities (QMP, GMP, internal audits) and support investigations
- Ensuring all microbiological data is accurately recorded and analysed for any trends or patterns, and weekly and monthly reports are generated and circulated to the technical team, and records are accurate and up-to-date, correctly stored, and are retrievable for audit and traceability purposes
- Conducting routine traceability exercises to challenge the systems to ensure they are robust and accurate, and leading trace activities during audits
- Monitoring and supporting investigating food safety related customer complaints, foreign bodies, and customer or third-party issues
- Maintaining site GMP standards, food safety and quality systems in line with SDUK standard and relevant retailer standards and requirements
- Maintaining BRC accreditation and relevant retailer approvals, including Red Tractor certification, and Halal/Kosher accreditation
- Experienced working within a food safety/quality-related role with demonstratable experience of BRC and retailer standards and audits
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of analysis and trend identification related to food complaints/quality/micro assessments
- Level 3 food hygiene certified (with a willingness to train to Level 4 standard)
- Level 3 HACCP (with a willingness to train to Level 4 standard)
- Able to show high attention to detail
- A strong communicator and influencer, with experience sharing data and analysis to stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally
- Able to demonstrate commercial and business awareness
