What You Will Be Doing
As a Marketing & Communications Executive, you will support Arriva Rail Services, focusing on B2B brands like Arriva Road Transport Services and Arriva Traincare, with occasional contributions to other brands such as Grand Central rail. You will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans, managing digital channels, driving public relations efforts, creating engaging content, ensuring brand consistency, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver impactful marketing and communications activities. This role is part of the expanding Arriva UK Trains Marketing and Communications team, which supports several Arriva brands.

- Arriva Traincare: Specialises in maintaining and servicing trains to ensure optimal performance and safety.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Marketing & Communications Executive, you will support Arriva Rail Services, focusing on B2B brands like Arriva Road Transport Services and Arriva Traincare, with occasional contributions to other brands such as Grand Central rail. You will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans, managing digital channels, driving public relations efforts, creating engaging content, ensuring brand consistency, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver impactful marketing and communications activities. This role is part of the expanding Arriva UK Trains Marketing and Communications team, which supports several Arriva brands.
Direct Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Marketing Strategies: Contribute to the development and execution of marketing and communications plans that resonate with key audiences and align with business objectives.
- Manage Digital Channels: Oversee social media presence (e.g., LinkedIn), CMS platforms, and multichannel marketing activities such as PPC.
- Drive Public Relations: Identify and pursue PR opportunities to secure positive media coverage and enhance brand reputation.
- Create Engaging Content: Develop compelling content (e.g., case studies, blog posts, and articles) to showcase expertise and thought leadership.
- Ensure Brand Consistency: Uphold brand guidelines and ensure a professional and cohesive brand identity across all communication channels.
- Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with the existing Marketing & Communications team and Internal Communications coordinator to ensure cohesive messaging and integrated communications across Rail Services.
- Implement Analytics and Tracking: Leverage Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) for tracking and data-driven decision-making.
- Reporting: Present performance back to the businesses, reporting on marketing and communications activities and performance.
- Educated to degree level (or similar) with strong written and numerical skills.
- Strong digital and marketing communications background and experience; ideally with specialist marketing qualifications.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or other professional body preferred but not essential.
- Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably within the rail or transport industry.
- Experience in B2B marketing, including fostering partnerships and collaborations with corporate stakeholders to drive business growth.
- Experience managing a roster of specialist suppliers as an extension of the in-house team, including inter-agency collaboration to deliver to Arriva Rail Services’ business objectives.
- Experience in creating and presenting insightful reports on marketing performance, trends, and ROI to internal and external stakeholders.
- Passion for understanding customers, influencing them, and creating advocacy which drives EBIT.
- Project management approach to delivering new initiatives.
- Experience working independently and managing multiple clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging content and manage brand consistency.
