About The Role
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Science to join our Science department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
- Teaching, Learning & Student Achievement – Deliver high‑quality teaching, assessment and verification across Levels 2–5, supporting learners to achieve success and reach their full potential.
- Curriculum Planning & Innovative Delivery – Develop up‑to‑date schemes of work and engaging learning materials, contributing proactively to curriculum development and innovative teaching practice.
- Assessment, Progress & Quality Assurance – Monitor and track learner progress, meet awarding body standards, complete verification and contribute to internal quality assurance and self‑assessment processes.
- Learner Support, Behaviour & Enrichment – Support individual learner needs, promote positive behaviour and enhance the student experience through employer links, work experience and enrichment opportunities.
- Professional Practice, Administration & Compliance – Maintain accurate records, meet deadlines, contribute to marketing and recruitment activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and CPD requirements.
- Qualifications & Scientific Expertise – Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related subject with GCSE English and maths, supported by vocational industry experience and commitment to achieving a teaching qualification.
- Teaching, Learning & Student Experience – Ability to deliver high‑quality teaching and support positive learner outcomes, creating inclusive and engaging learning environments that meet diverse student needs.
- Sector Knowledge & Continuous Development – Up‑to‑date knowledge of developments in the science field, with a strong commitment to CPD and maintaining professional expertise.
- Communication, Organisation & Collaboration – Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines, build effective cross‑college relationships and contribute positively to team success.
- Professional Values, Safeguarding & Flexibility – Committed to College values, safeguarding, equality and health & safety, maintaining professional standards, with flexibility to work across sites and adapt to changing demands.
