Team Collaboration

• Work closely with all team members in a collaborative environment to achieve project goals.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks, share insights, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Report directly to the Senior Craft Engineer, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and team performance.
• Contribute ideas to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity in the workshop.

Responsibilities Will Include

• The build, maintenance & repair of specialist craft
• Travel to and support of offsite craft testing if required
• Advise on noted defects
• Follow work instructions and project timelines diligently to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  
  

Required

Qualifications, attributes, and experience:

• City & Guilds or HND qualification in Boat Building or Marine Engineering, or extended experience in composite yacht construction.
• Experience working with four stroke diesel and petrol engines.
• Experience in waterjet and gearbox installation and maintenance.
• Experience in vessel fit out (including fuel, raw water, exhaust systems).
• Able to work from drawings and work instructions, complete documentation when required.
• Existing right to live and work in the UK and no known bar to obtaining appropriate UK security clearance as required.
  
  

Desirable

• Able to fault find and fix mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical systems. Able to work with a deep understanding of composite materials.
  
  

Working Conditions

• The role will primarily be based in the SubSea Craft office in Portsmouth.
• The position may involve work in a manufacturing environment and at sea during trials, which may present physical challenges and require adherence to safety protocols.
  
  

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum Existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with Security Check likely for specific projects.*
