Arm’s application engineering team helps our customers achieve success with our products. We are growing this team to start collaborating with our customers on their circuit board designs. The successful applicant will be the first member of this team and will have an opportunity to contribute to the strategy and operating model for the team as well as developing new skills. The role is a hybrid home/office role based at Arm’s headquarters in Cambridge, England and requires broad co-working with relevant engineering and commercial roles within Arm as well as concurrently with multiple customers. Initially, you will work closely with Arm’s board engineering team as they deliver for our own programs, later transitioning to meet the customer demand.

Responsibilities

  • Be the primary contact points for customers integrating Arm silicon into their board designs.
  • Be the critical link between Arm’s partners and customers and the Arm Silicon and Boards Engineering teams.
  • Aim to help the customer independently, pulling support from the engineering team at the right time.
  • Able to influence and improve customer facing documentation and design guides based on experience and feedback.
  • Feed customer experience back into the business to improve Arm’s products and services.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of High-speed signal design practices, such as signal routing and PCB stack-up influences.
  • Knowledge of Signal / Power Integrity issues on boards and debug strategies to find and resolve.
  • Detailed knowledge of embedded system board design, designing with complex LSI devices, demonstrating an understanding of various high speed IO interface standards such as PCIe and DDR
  • Can use schematics and PCB design tools to find information and to review customer designs.

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of Arm technology, culture, and the business model
  • Understanding of SoC system architectures and end market applications.
  • Has previous experience of board bring-up involving desktop or server grade processors
  • Open to travel, potentially spending significant periods of time on customer sites and for learning trips.
