Exciting role in the Resources Service within the wider Corporate Parenting Service.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Special Guardianship Social Worker in the Fostering Recruitment and Special Guardianship team.
This is a role that requires you to work with children and young people, special guardianships and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our children and young people.
You will be providing support for Merton's families who are in kinship arrangements, supporting families with accessing local services and for those eligible, applying for support through the Adoption and Special Guardianship Support Fund. You will lead and co-ordinate on running support groups for carers, liaising with other local authorities and identify any safeguarding concerns.
Additionally, you will work with a wide professional network and families and also carry out general tasks within the wider team.
We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate individual who puts children and families are the forefront of their practice.
The ideal candidate will have experience of establishing and nurturing meaningful relationships.
