About The Role

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Social Skills Coach to join our Student Experience team. This rewarding role focuses on empowering students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to overcome barriers, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to flourish both in education and in everyday life. You'll be part of a dedicated team committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can reach their full potential.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Social Skills Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Working as part of our Safeguarding and Wellbeing team, you will help students develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to succeed in college and prepare for life beyond education.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Managing a caseload of students with SEMH needs identified within their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Delivering high-quality one-to-one and group interventions that support emotional wellbeing, social skills development, resilience and independence.
• Supporting students through assessments, annual reviews and transition planning.
• Providing advice, guidance and signposting during student drop-in sessions.
• Designing and delivering social skills activities and programmes to support student development and EHCP outcomes.
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SEND teams, families and external agencies to provide coordinated support.
• Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate, timely records using college systems.
• Providing advice and guidance to colleagues regarding SEMH needs and inclusive support strategies.
• Supporting wider wellbeing initiatives, health promotion campaigns and staff training activities.
• Contributing to a responsive and student-focused support service that promotes positive outcomes for all learners.
