About Hyatt Regency London Olympia

Hyatt Regency London Olympia will be part of a major redevelopment project transforming Olympia, London's historic convention centre built in 1873, into a comprehensive convention, entertainment, and cultural district in West London. Anchored by the iconic glass barrel-vaulted roofs of the Grand and National Halls, the new 14-acre site will feature a boutique multi-screen arthouse cinema, a 4,000-capacity music and performing arts venue, a 1,500-seat theatre, a rooftop sky garden, as well as restaurants, shops, cafés, and office and co-working spaces.

Hyatt Regency London Olympia will offer 204 rooms, a bar and restaurant, as well as a lobby lounge. Additionally, there will be 3 meeting rooms and direct connectivity to the London Olympia Convention Centre.

Duties and tasks related to the Shift Engineer role include

  • Being responsible for carrying out any required engineering or maintenance tasks
  • Performing repairs and maintenance in guest bedrooms, public and back of house areas, ensuring they are maintained to a high level and exceed guest expectations
  • Conducting general repairs and maintenance including electrical, mechanical, air-conditioning, fire protection, carpentry, and plumbing, ensuring that all tasks are completed on schedule and compliant with required standards and safety regulations
  • Completing planned preventive maintenance within the plant rooms, bedrooms and public areas
  • Regularly inspect the entire building with particular attention to safety features and to monitor the condition of all operating equipment
  • Working closely with the security departing in overseeing Health & Safety

About You

You will have a strong understanding of general maintenance and engineering tasks in a hotel and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. A qualification in specialised areas such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing is beneficial. As you will have regular interaction with our guests, excellent communication skills are essential.
