Role Overview
Deliver clear, engaging and strategic communications through brilliant storytelling that protects and enhances the Punch brand whilst supporting our Publicans and Management Partners - celebrating success across the business.
This is a office-based role at our Head Office in Burton upon Trent on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Accountabilities
- Manage the press office in its entirety – including drafting responses for Punch employees, responding to queries, and ensuring the press register is up to date.
- Communicate Publican and Management Partners success stories on internal and external channels. Activity will include arranging photography; VIP invites and targeting regional and trade press outlets. This includes sharing all PR to social media.
- Communicate industry news, pub investments and acquisitions via Punch’s internal and external channels – SharePoint, Thirst, Punch Website and via local/national press.
- Full editorial duty of The Round magazine, including proofreading, writing the feature article and the Marketing & Communication Director’s introduction.
- Responsible for maintaining, writing and distributing key stories and news articles across all platforms, including Punch Buying Club, In the Moment and office screens.
- Leading on the Huddle – taking full responsibility for the Huddle agenda, organising content, editing videos, and writing and distributing the comms associated with it
- Report periodically on Punch’s performance in the press – using analytic tools via our distribution platform (Vuelio) to update on the sentiment of our brand, in addition to reporting on engagement and tracking new followers via LinkedIn.
- Proofread internal comms and edit where necessary before distributing via internal channels – this includes all ad hoc requests.
- Creating a weekly and monthly social media plan for Punch – incorporating all areas of the business – as well as drafting/sharing the posts, including monitoring commentary & engagement.
- Responsible for the distribution, monitoring of responses and summary of analytics for the quarterly Partnering with Punch Survey – giving top-line analysis to the Senior Leadership Team
- Provide analytical data on performance as needed for Senior team for review
- Supporting with strategic partner media requests – for example, Licensed Trade Charity, Only A Pavement Away, Long Live the Local and BII campaigns
- Where necessary, to assist with Punch event planning, primarily responsible for writing and distributing comms for both Punch employees and Publicans/MPs.

- Experience working with media, PR platforms and analytics tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines
- Confident stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills
- Strong editorial skills with excellent attention to detail
