POSITION: Senior Human Resources Advisor

DIVISION/DEPT: People & Culture Department

REPORT TO: Head of People & Culture

LOCATION: Sheffield or Liverpool (Field Based)

The Opportunity - Senior Human Resources Advisor

We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior HR Advisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Personable and driven, you will play a key role in shaping the People & Culture function across our UK operations, with additional exposure to our South Africa and Asia teams.

This role is fundamental in delivering a culture and office environment that truly represents Solent and our values. Covering our three sites in the North—Widnes, Bury, and Dinnington—you will be involved in all aspects of HR and recruitment, ensuring our teams are supported and set up for success.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead the integration of a recent acquisition, embedding culture and driving new ways of working.
  • Partner with managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance improvement plans.
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition Partner to identify staffing needs and implement effective recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage HR data and analytics to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to enhance HR processes and practices.
  • Own the employee lifecycle—from recruitment through probation—to ensure effective onboarding and development.

About You

  • CIPD or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A strategic thinker who can translate business needs into impactful HR initiatives.
  • Experience in change management or M&A integration is highly desirable.
