Overview

Waters, the world's leading specialty measurement company that cares about inclusion and diversity is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant, who will be part of the EMEA Accounting team. You will work closely with the Accounting Manager focusing on Sales and Cost of Sales, and participate in various projects to drive efficiency and accounting harmonization across EMEA.

This position is based in the UK and will follow a hybrid model work approach(3 days working from Wilmslow) and remaining days working from home.

Responsibilities

  • Sales reconciliation for the EMEA Region:
  • Perform detailed reconciliation and reclassification tasks.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Handle any additional requests related to sales reconciliation.
  • Any other requests related to the task.
  • Intercompany Profit Elimination Review:
  • Responsible for the elimination of intercompany profit for cost of sales.
  • Ensure completion by Day 3 following the closing date.
  • Ensure trade margins reconcile with established materiality levels.
  • Advocate for appropriate materiality levels to maintain financial integrity.
  • Project Participation:
  • Engage in local, European, and global projects.
  • Blackline reconciliations:
  • Prepare Blackline reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Feedback and Support:
  • Provide constructive feedback to the Accounting Manager.
  • Support with S/4HANA implementation.
  • Internal collaboration:
  • European Process Team, Order Process, BT Team, Global Project Teams, FP&A Team.
  • US Corp Finance Team, APAC and Greater China Finance Teams.
  • External Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with external partners such as E&Y, Deloitte, and PWC to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Complex Request Support:
  • Provide support for more complex requests within the EMEA region, leveraging your expertise to tackle challenging problems.


Qualifications

Education: Accounting qualification / Master’s or equivalent experience in accounting or business administration is preferred.

Experience: Proven track record in accounting.

Proficiencies:

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Blackline)
  • Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel skills)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures


Languages: English (written and spoken), another main European language is an advantage.

Travel: This person must hold a current passport and be prepared to travel abroad not only during working hours but also occasionally at weekends.
