Shifts: 4 days per week, Monday-Saturday. Shift start times between 06:00 & 07:00

Salary: Competitive dependent on experience + 4% shift enhancement + £5,000 golden hello (T’s & C’s apply)

We are looking for a Senior Theatre Practitioner/SFA Practitioner to join our Theatres team at The Wilmslow Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.

What You Will Do

  • Assist World Class Orthopaedic surgeons as a Scrub Practitioner and Surgical First Assistant (SFA) during a variety of surgical procedures, including joint replacements, trauma surgery, and arthroscopic procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are available and functioning correctly.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Mentor and support junior staff and students, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation in line with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

What You Will Bring

  • Registered Nurse or ODP with current NMC or HCPC registration
  • Extensive experience in orthopaedic surgery with a proven track record as a Senior Scrub Practitioner and Surgical First Assistant
  • Advanced clinical skills and knowledge in orthopaedic procedures and instrumentation
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with strong organisational and time management ability
