About the role

As our Senior Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial processing and reporting across the organisation. Reporting to the Accountant, you will:

  • Overseeing the entry of financial transactions
  • Leading and supporting a team of three Finance Assistants
  • Contributing to monthly management accounts and preparing financial reports
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring prompt transaction processing
  • Providing monthly payroll cover
  • Preparing VAT and statutory returns
  • Delivering Excel-based analysis and financial modelling
  • Improving processes and enhancing service delivery
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation

This role is ideal for a motivated Senior Finance Officer who enjoys taking ownership and delivering high-quality financial work.

About You

You’ll be a people-centred, organised and proactive individual with:

  • Experience in financial transaction processing and reporting
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills
  • Excellent Excel skills and confidence with financial modelling
  • Payroll experience including HMRC submissions
  • AAT Level 4 or part-qualified accountant status
  • A commitment to equality, inclusion and continuous improvement

We welcome previous experience working as:
Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, Payroll Officer, Accounts Supervisor, Management Accounts Assistant, Team Leader in Finance, or any other role with relevant transferable skills.
