About The Role
As a School Crossing Patrol Warden, you will:
- Assist children and adults to safely cross the road at designated sites during school term time.
- Manage traffic by following the correct crossing procedures and displaying the authorised sign as required by law.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need previous experience—full training is provided—but you must be able to demonstrate:
- Experience working with children or the public.
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and drivers.
- A friendly, approachable manner and strong customer‑care skills.
- Reliability, good timekeeping, patience, honesty, and responsibility.
- Ability to follow instructions and work within set guidelines.
- Initiative and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Flexibility to provide cover across different sites when needed.
- Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to stand for long periods and move briskly in and out of the road.
