Job Introduction
We are currently recruiting for exciting opportunities to join Turning Point and be part of our highly successful and innovative 'Improving Access to Psychological Therapies' (IAPT) service.
Wakefield Talking Therapies specialises in evidence-based psychological therapies. We are seeking a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner for a fixed term position as part of the government backed NHS 'Health and Growth Accelerators' trial. In line with the broader NHS priority of shifting from treating sickness to prevention, the accelerators will work on preventing depression and anxiety leading to people dropping out of work.
This position is initially offered on a fixed-term basis ending on 31 st March 2026. While there is a possibility of extending the contract if additional funding is secured in the future, this cannot be guaranteed.
Role Responsibility
You will join our team in Wakefield to assist with the delivery of the service and as a key member of the team, you will be working closely with our clinical team to maintain our high standard and help us to develop.
As a PWP you'll be managing your own caseload providing evidence based treatments via one to one and group settings. You will get regular supervision and will be able to access regular masterclasses to develop your skills and support your career development. You will work with your supervisor and line manager to make sure development and CPD plans are in place for your ongoing growth.
The Ideal Candidate
You need NHS Talking Therapies qualification as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (unless demonstrably exempt through UCL assessment of competence scheme) and Registration as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with either BABCP or BPS.
As well as being a qualified PWP, you will need outstanding written and telephone communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
In return, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress in your career with us.
We have an active wellbeing working group made up staff from within various different roles in the service who work together to organise events, keep people connected and provide information and support helping to make this a really great place to work.
We also offer the opportunity to manage your wellbeing by working flexibly and, as the service is open 7 days a week there are lots of opportunities to ensure this can work for you as well as our clients. We pay incentivised rates of pay for weekend working and additional hours.
