The Roles

Based at our Hellaby site and reporting to a Team/Shift Leader, you will play an important role in supporting our manufacturing operations and achieving daily production targets.

As a Production Operator, you will manufacture high-quality products by operating production machinery, hand assembly jigs, rumble lines, and packaging equipment. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

As a Die Casting Operator, you will support daily departmental objectives through machine operation, quality control, part collection, and material preparation, ensuring all processes and standards are consistently met.

Both roles are hands-on and can be physically demanding, requiring a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and performance.

What You'll Be Doing

Production Operator

  • operating production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently to achieve daily production targets
  • carrying out basic fault finding to identify production or machine inefficiencies and escalate issues where required
  • reading, understanding, and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • completing manual assembly operations using a range of components, tools, and equipment
  • reading and interpreting product route cards (Bills of Materials) to ensure products are manufactured correctly
  • inspecting components and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • identifying and reporting defects, quality concerns, or process issues promptly
  • performing daily asset care activities to maintain equipment reliability
  • maintaining high housekeeping and 5S standards across the work area
  • using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) to update production orders, recording progress, and completing quality checks accurately
  • working closely with colleagues to support continuous improvement and help deliver operational excellence

Die Casting Operator

  • inspecting finished products and identifying defects in components or goods
  • operating machinery and equipment to a high standard to achieve production targets
  • carrying out basic fault-finding to resolve machinery or production inefficiencies
  • reading, understanding, and following relevant SOPs to ensure health, safety, and quality standards are upheld
  • supporting process engineers during changeovers
  • completing daily asset care activities
  • maintaining and promoting 5S standards across the department
  • using IT systems to update works orders, track overall equipment efficiency (OEE), and record quality checks

Who You Are

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • A good mechanical aptitude and a passion for engineering or manufacturing
  • Comfortable working with machinery and following technical instructions
  • Good numeracy skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, with a good standard of written and spoken English
  • Previous manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided

Working hours

Production Operator - This position will entail working regular mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday on a two-week shift pattern. Night shift and weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business, and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.

Die Casting Operator – This position will entail working a regular 3 shift pattern, mornings, nights and afternoons. Monday-Thursday 6.00am-2.00pm or 2.00pm-10.00pm and Friday 6.00am–1.00pm or 1.00pm-8.00pm. Sunday 11.00pm-6.00am or Monday-Thursday 10pm-6am. Weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business, and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.
