National Account Manager

As National Account Manager in Ecommerce & Grocery, you will manage a portfolio of Bayer brands with full ownership and accountability. Reporting to the Channel Controller, this role will require great relationship management and teamwork to manage the account and deliver winning plans. You will manage local negotiations, presentations, and develop promotional strategies across the portfolio and look to build strong relationships with the buyers and all other cross functions both internally (local and regional) and with our customer.

Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Full ownership and management of a portfolio of Bayer brands within Ecommerce & Grocery.
  • Create and agree joint business plans with the customer and ensure all financial targets are met on the account.
  • Ensure promotions are planned, executed, and evaluated to achieve the best possible ROI and in line with annual/quarterly budgets.
  • Produce accurate volume and value forecasts and closely monitor performance vs forecast.
  • Ensure all admin is done accurately and in a timely manner including SKU switches, price changes, promotions both on internal and external systems and NDP launches.
  • Work with a National Account Executive to manage customers, priorities, and outcomes.
  • Essential to track trade term investment and identify opportunities and risks to our planned spend each year.
  • Work closely with Bayer Regional Team to build winning plans, track performance and deliver on key outcomes for the customer.
  • Externally build strong, productive relationships with key customer contacts across functions (e.g., buying, category, supply).
  • To have an ongoing relationship with the Buying Manager to ensure all agreements are on track and provide strategies to build the account.
  • To work closely with the Channel Controller in order to manage expectations on performance, identify risks and opportunities and deliver targets.
  • Internal communication with all cross-functional teams is essential. Ability to build relationships easily and gets on well with people at all levels is essential.
  • Building and fostering relationships with Regional (EMEA and NEU) stakeholders to share best practices, learnings and challenges along with.
  • WHO YOU ARE
  • Previous experience in a commercial role with sales and negotiation experience.
  • Experience of building and agreeing joint business plans.
  • Strong understanding of how consumer goods P&Ls work and how they can be influenced.
  • Positive track record of achieving targets.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Impeccable organization skills to ensure all admin is done accurately and on time.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills both internally and externally.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Team player, focused on total company delivery.
  • Shows clear leadership potential.
  • Ability to work within a wider sales team and across all cross-functional departments.
  • Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders and effect change at different levels.
  • Strong IT and database skills.
