Multiskilled Shift Engineer – Redcar

Are you a skilled engineer looking for a fulfilling career with a leading transport provider? Arriva is seeking a dedicated Multiskilled Shift Engineer (PSV Mechanic) to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and servicing our modern fleet of North East buses.

Your Role

As a Multiskilled Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics to our commercial bus fleet—meeting the strict standards of both Arriva and the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards
  • Improve vehicle reliability through proactive and reactive servicing
  • Perform MOT prep, preventative maintenance, and quality assurance checks
  • Carry out diagnostic fault finding and implement lasting repairs
  • Work a variety of shift patterns – speak with us about options that suit your lifestyle

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in PSV, HGV, or (or equivalent international qualification – subject to verification)
  • OR at least 5 years' relevant hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance within HGV/PSV
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points)
  • Fit to pass a PCV pre-employment medical
