HSL was formed to provide pathology services to the NHS Trusts and has expanded further to provide services to other NHS Trusts. With our core laboratory based at The Halo Building in London WC1H 9AX, we also have an expanding site in Manchester as well as smaller hospital-based laboratories across the country. We maintain rigorously high standards of quality, whilst also delivering efficiencies to healthcare through careful workforce planning, pioneering technology and significant investment in infrastructure and IT Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls into the category of requiring a DBS check (standard). About the role: An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Biomedical Scientist to join the team at the new Hertfordshire and West Essex (HWE )Hub, providing Biochemistry and Haematology analysis and reporting to the GPs and community providers across HWE. The post holder must use a combination of technical knowledge and skills to ensure that appropriate sample testing is performed safely, accurately and in a timely manner, for every patient, every time, while maintaining the sites contracted performance for turnaround times TATs. Whilst experience is desirable; full, and further training will be provided to ensure the successful candidate is competent and confident for all Blood Science tasks The Hub offers state of the art processes, analytics, and pre-analytics. When fully operational, following transition of all sites across the HWE Network, the Hub will process 15,000 samples per day. The successful candidate will join our team of dedicated Biomedical scientists and lab support staff in delivering a high-quality pathology service. We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive and attention to detail is essential An important aspect of this role is the continual professional development and keeping up to date with their departmental training. This will involve working closely with the Training Officer to ensure competency and training is maintained to the required standard The HWE Hub is not yet operational and as a new laboratory the ideal candidate will need to be adaptable to a changing environment, committed to service excellence and have a genuine desire for continued personal and professional development The HWE Hub will operate a 24/7 service so the successful candidate will be expected to participate in all shifts required to cover this timeframe. This means the post holder will initially work core hours whilst in training but will be required once trained and competent to work as part of a 24/7 service shift rota. Consisting of Early, Core, Late, and Nights along with weekend and bank holidays to work within any section of the department At HSL we offer a variety of excellent staff benefits including:
