The purpose of the role: Marketing Manager.

To take responsibility of a selection of Ouma’s key clients and build their success through client management, growth ideation, strategy and planning, ownership of all execution across marketing channels, including paid media, content and websites, as well as full reporting and analysis of success back to client.

Headline responsibilities of the role: Marketing Manager.

Client Management (25%)

To partner the Client Services Manager in the day-to-day success of your accounts

To ‘lean in’ to all client challenges with a desire to fix and resolve problems

To handle clients with seniority and responsibility, escalating only when necessary

To expertly handle client comms, expectations and foster a trust-based relationship


Marketing strategy & planning (15%)

To write all Marketing strategy and plans for your clients, according to briefing cycles

To interrogate, understand and crack client growth challenges

To have strong generalist knowledge across all marketing channels


Campaign execution (25%)

To oversee every aspect of campaign execution without allowing anything to drop

Creative, content and copy briefing and delivery

Media partner management

Campaign set-up, tracking and accurate execution

Paid media delivery, optimisation, nuances and performance levers

Content and organic project management, delivery and performance


Campaign analysis (20%)

Consistent weekly discourse with the client over performance vs expectations

Delivery and presentation of KPIs and attribution


Client growth (15%)

Through the CDP (Client Development Plan) process, oversee annual growth of your accounts



Key skills for the role: Marketing Manager.


Client Management

Confidence in client relationships and communication with senior stakeholders

Own challenges, deliver solutions, seeking advice not escalation unless necessary

Operational / project management excellence – everything happens on time, to plan

Use of Click-Up or similar project management tool for task tracking


Marketing strategy & planning

Brilliant, well-rounded Marketing skillsets, through experience, academia or CIM

Expert-eye Marketing research, audience segmentation, insights and analysis

Lead gen performance and brand building skillsets

Ability to brief partner teams on assets, deliverables, required content etc.


Campaign execution

Full conversion tracking knowledge, GTM, set-up, testing, QA, troubleshooting

Google Ads and DV360 – Pmax, Display, Video, PPC etc.

Meta, LinkedIn, Tik Tok Ads etc.

SEO and CRM fundamentals

Broad DSP knowledge (i.e. Trade Desk) and macro DSP (i.e. Adcellerant)

Budget pacing, optimisation, delivery to plan


Campaign analysis

Business KPI experience and attribution over vanity metrics

Reporting and analysis experience, delivery and presentation to clients


Client growth

Good commercial acumen, spotting client x agency mutual growth opportunities


KPIs for the role


- Annual Marketing strategy created for and activated against each of your clients

- Contribute to a 30% revenue growth YoY by client activation upgrades

- Delivery of outstanding media activations, which match or exceed expectation

- Successful utilisation of Expert Network to delivery against client plans

- Participate in one successful client pitch annually
