The Manager, Partnership Development is a member of the Strategy and Partnerships team, responsible for ensuring the viability and appropriate contracting of Abcam’s strategic partnerships across the Life Sciences & Diagnostics industry, maximizing the value of Abcam’s unique reagent portfolio.

This position reports to the Director, Partnership Development and is part of the Strategic Partnerships team located in Cambridge, UK and will be remote.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Play a key role in the Partnership Development team, accelerating revenue growth and strengthening Abcam’s position as a preferred strategic partner for affinity reagents.
  • Continuously generate leads with new and existing global partners identifying opportunities for further growth aligning Abcam and Danaher value chains.
  • With the support of legal team, lead on the proposal, negotiation and execution of term sheets and contractual documentation ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects consecutively with clear communication to cross functional (R&D, Product, Ops, Legal/Regulatory, and Finance) and cross Danaher collaborators and management.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and legal requirements

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business administration, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in identifying, negotiating, and closing business development opportunities within the life sciences sector.
  • A proven track record of negotiating commercial contract terms, including contracts involving reagent out-licensing, and partnership structures.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: i

  • Up to 20% travel required (domestic and international)

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • MSc or Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related fields

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
