Logistics Analytics & Optimisation Lead

Ciena is seeking a logistics analytics professional to drive data-informed decisions across global logistics operations. This role delivers insights that optimise transportation performance, improve operational efficiency, and support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining customer satisfaction. The position also plays a key role in automation, reporting, supplier engagement, and cross-functional collaboration.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Analyse shipment routing, service levels, carrier selection, and logistics data to identify opportunities to optimise the global supply chain and achieve cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with regional logistics teams, internal stakeholders, and external providers to implement routing guide changes that deliver savings while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Lead engagement with logistics suppliers to resolve operational issues and improve performance.
  • Conduct RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in partnership with Procurement, from objective definition through final evaluation and milestone completion.
  • Develop logistics reporting, metrics, and Power BI dashboards to enable automation, visibility, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead logistics cost reduction initiatives, validate savings, assess budget impact, and provide end-to-end cost visibility in collaboration with Finance and operational teams.
  • Deliver quarterly business reviews, executive reporting, logistics cost estimates, and performance analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Engage with Ciena’s freight invoice audit company to ensure invoices are processed within agreed terms.

The Must Haves

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years experience in international logistics.
  • Application of data analysis methodologies in a logistics or supply chain environment.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and strong Excel skills; Oracle experience preferred.
  • Experience creating dashboards using Power BI.
  • Ability to work across multiple departments, including Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Shipping, and Accounts Payable.
  • Fluent English language skills.
