What You’ll Do

We are looking for a field based Junior Project Manager to support the Contract Delivery Manager in the Arb Utility division at Ground Control. You will be responsible for managing the operation for an assigned programme of tree works across the South Essex area. You will take responsibility for driving the programme delivery for both self, contract KPI targets and our tree cutting teams.

This is a field-based role with approximately 3 days in the field and 2 days based at home but this will vary depending on what needs to be achieved that week. You will need a driving licence as you will be driving to rural locations on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

You will ensure work is completed to the highest possible standards in terms of safety, environment, quality, customer service and profitability. Drive consistency and innovation through everything you do to ensure Ground Control are the best at what we do!

What you will achieve;

  • Responsible for outputs and performance within your projects, measured against safety, quality, production, budget, required timings and client satisfaction.
  • Ensure efficient communication with your assigned office based Project Coordinator and relevant action taken to ensure projects are processed in good time for smooth and efficient project delivery on all projects.
  • Timely and effective reporting and communication through to your Contract Delivery Manager
  • Ensure your assigned tree cutting teams have a suitable work bank and are being fully utilised across the wider contract.
  • Update and manage the Work Programme, SD Programme, Held Up Programme, Planning checklists and all similar programmes for your project and assigned teams.
  • Satisfactorily resolving any Held-Up spans that need client resolution to obtain consent.

What we're we looking for?

This a great role for someone with basic field based project management experience. This could be within the Arb industry but we would also be interested to hear from anyone in a surveying, project management or field based operational role who loves the freedom of managing their own workload but is now looking for a change in industry.

Any tree or horticulture related experience from a practical or project management perspective would be a benefit but if definitely not essential

  • Practiced and strong negotiation and influencing skills.
