Head of Positive Behaviour Support.

Salary: £50,000 plus £3,000 Car allowance

Location: NCG Remote

The role of Head of Positive Behaviour Support

As Head of Positive Behaviour Support, you will lead the development and delivery of high-quality Positive Behaviour Support strategies across our services. You will guide a bespoke team and support our service colleagues through coaching and training, and work closely with stakeholders to embed a culture of respect, safety, and proactive support.

It will include

  • Liaising with relevant Managers to ensure services are aware of best practice in relation to Positive Behaviour Support, Active Support, Person Centred Planning, Intensive Interaction, Trauma Informed Care, and other relevant social care initiatives. Coach and mentor colleagues to enable them to deliver high quality support to the people we support within services.
  • Lead a bespoke team that is dedicated to achieving best outcomes for the people we support with complex behaviour and communication skills.
  • Maximise stakeholder involvement with regard to achieving positive behaviour approaches.
  • Work closely with relevant teams, the people we support and relevant others to establish positive behaviour support. Where required, deliver training to individuals.
  • Ensure that equality of opportunity is reflected in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Ensure agreed standards of service delivery in compliance with relevant legislation and commissioners.
  • Develop, promote, and monitor quality assurance systems appropriate to the needs of the individual/Service and organisational requirements.
  • Be responsible for and ensure the appropriate support, supervision, and appraisal of colleagues within the Positive BS team.
  • Maintain, promote, and ensure within the service an awareness of current developments in practice and legislation.
  • Ensure that colleagues receive appropriate training to meet individuals and service needs with regard to maintaining an up-to-date awareness.
  • Represent National Care Group at local level and build positive links with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead the Restraint Reduction Network on behalf on National Care Group.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication systems between all stakeholders.
  • Work within the Quality team to develop and update policies where required.
  • Analyse data to demonstrate trends within the organisation in different relevant areas.
  • Develop PBS and embed within the organisation using PBS strategy.

What qualities do you need to be a great support worker?

We Would Be Looking For

  • A recognised qualification in Positive Behaviour Support or Behaviour Analysis
  • A social care qualification at Level 4 or above
  • At least 5 years’ experience in social care and Behaviour support
  • Ability to organise self and others effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to motivate self and use initiative when managing workload.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and positively contribute to improving performance and standards.
  • Ability to manage a staff team and provide support required in line with organisational policies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write and present written and statistical reports.
  • Able to communicate sensitive information in a way that addresses barriers.
  • Ability to work within a multi-Disciplinary team.
