The General Operator will be responsible for the operation and monitoring of machinery and equipment in the manufacturing process. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
As a General Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Operating and monitoring manufacturing equipment and machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Performing routine quality checks on products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
- Setting up machinery for production runs, including adjustments and calibrations as needed - rewind, tapeline, packager, tape/braider, magline, plastic extruder, PCP injection. May included operation of multiple machines at one time.
- Repairing, patching, or splicing cable.
- Troubleshooting and resolving minor equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, following 5S principles.
- Following safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment incl, participating in Risk Assessments.
- Identifying and reporting all Safety concerns, Quality issues and manufacturing problems before progressing any work.
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and solve operational challenges.
- Participating in ongoing training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in manufacturing or a related field is a plus.
- Proven years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, manufacturing work orders, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to use measuring equipment (rules, Vernier's, tapes).
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and shifts as needed.

- You will be working a continental shift pattern – 2 weeks Dayshift / 2 weeks Nightshift.
