Typical day as a contract Senior Maintenance Surveyor
· Lead and guide our Surveying team to perform at their best and plan for future demand
· Use your experience to recruit and support new surveyors, setting high standards from day one
· Mentor and coach your team through change, helping them grow and succeed
· Set the tone for technical excellence with inspections, audits and sharing best practice
· Take the lead on complex cases, from Disrepair to working with vulnerable customers
· Track team performance and use data to improve how we work and deliver for customers

You bring
- A degree or equivalent experience in building surveying (RICS or CIOB preferred) plus relevant Health and Safety qualification and knowledge of building safety and compliance.
- Strong experience managing surveying teams in a housing or maintenance setting
- Excellent understanding of housing legislation, compliance and CDM
- Clear communication style and the ability to coach others through change
- Solid track record in solving problems and delivering high standards
- A collaborative, practical approach and a calm head in complex situations

Job details
- This is a contractor role with fixed hours. We’ll agree a set working pattern with you from the start, so you know exactly when you’re needed — no surprises, just clarity and consistency
- This is a hybrid role, so you’ll typically spend some days in our office and others working at home. The rest will be working in our properties across the North East.
- You must be able to use technology for updating records, budget and KPI management, completing online learning and collaborating with other colleagues.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and vehicle insured for business use – mileage is covered!
- You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
