SUMMARY
We are an innovative and market-leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.
We operate a Hybrid working policy so you will be able to flex between working in the office and your home location to carry out this role, however during your initial training period the need to be in office with other team members will be essential. Our UK office is based in Chorley, which is where you will be based.

A senior role reporting to the Group Finance Director, with accountability & responsibility for financial compliance and oversight of the preparation of monthly management accounts, alongside line management of the transactional teams.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Support the preparation and review of monthly management accounts
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage the financial reporting process, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, in conjunction with FP&A team
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and recommendations
- Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying trends and variances, and providing actionable insights.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate preparation of statutory accounts.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory and legislative compliance reports.
- Manage cash flow and working capital, ensuring optimal liquidity and financial stability.
- Provide financial analysis and support for strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Lead and develop the finance team, providing mentorship, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and drive financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and risk management policies.
- Administer and optimize the NetSuite ERP finance system.
- Support the Group Finance Director in ad hoc projects and initiatives.

Experience:
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA (preferred), ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with financial reporting standards.
- Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Experience in a Private Equity environment is preferable.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with NetSuite ERP or similar financial systems.
Education:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Relevant degree (preferably 1st).
- A-levels (As or above, including maths).
