How you will Energise Our Team

As part of an evolving and forward-thinking Finance function, we’re looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Finance Business Partner to join our Commercial Finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract (hybrid). Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you’ll play a key role in delivering financial insights, analysis, and strategic advice to support decision-making across the business. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to drive Valda’s growth ambitions. The ideal candidate will thrive on supporting new initiatives, enjoy building business cases, presenting investment options, and be comfortable diving into detail while keeping the bigger picture in focus.

Your day to day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Taking ownership of annual budgets and forecasts whilst collaborating with department heads to develop realistic financial plans that align with company strategy
  • Preparing and delivering regular financial reports and analysis, including performance against budgets, forecasts, and KPIs
  • Preparing management information, insights & reporting to the senior leadership team, highlighting emerging issues & potential future challenges to drive commercial performance
  • Assisting with the development of various strategic & commercial initiatives whilst building business case proposals
  • Developing working relationships with key stakeholders across the business and communicating complex financial information clearly and succinctly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ensuring financials are managed in line with business plans for both short and long term
  • Providing financial insights into operational efficiency, cost management, and investment decisions
  • Evaluating the financial impact of new business opportunities, partnerships, and sales initiatives

The Spark we're Looking For

  • Fully qualified with a relevant qualification e.g ACA/CIMA/ACCA/ICAS (preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience in finance business partnering
  • Strong financial modelling (advanced Excel/Google Sheets) experience
  • Great analytical & problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, issues and recommend actions
  • Good interpersonal & influencing skills, ability to engage across various internal functions to develop, get buy-in and deliver outcomes across teams
  • Confident presenting data in a meaningful and effective way; understanding the needs of the end users and tailoring presentations to their requirements
  • Experience building business cases, presenting and debating investment choices
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, able to support with developing new processes and streamlining existing processes to create efficiencies
