Role
A key member of the facilities team, this role will provide hands on support to the care, maintenance and improvement of the Northrop Grumman Burlington House facility at New Malden. The role will liaise across the NGUKL support functions of health, safety, environment and security to ensure the working environment is optimised to enable the on- site delivery teams to execute their critical missions.

Role
A key member of the facilities team, this role will provide hands on support to the care, maintenance and improvement of the Northrop Grumman Burlington House facility at New Malden. The role will liaise across the NGUKL support functions of health, safety, environment and security to ensure the working environment is optimised to enable the on- site delivery teams to execute their critical missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Assistant Facilities Manager in maintaining and improving the working environment at Burlington House.
- Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks including basic plumbing, carpentry, and painting and decorating.
- Conduct routine and reactive inspections of building systems, equipment, and facilities to identify and address faults or safety concerns.
- Respond to reactive maintenance issues such as lighting failures, leaks, and minor urgent repairs.
- Escort and supervise contractors and suppliers on-site to ensure compliance with health, safety, and security protocols.
- Move, assemble, and install office furniture and equipment to support site operations and office layout changes.
- Assist with access arrangements, including unlocking/locking areas and supporting contractor or suppliers checking in.
- Manage and maintain cleaning tools, materials, and supplies, ensuring proper storage and availability.
- Deputising for the Deputy Facilities Manager as directed
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all staff and visitors.
- Supervise the work of the contracted cleaning team and ensure quality standards are met.
- Carry out gardening, basic landscaping, and litter clearance to maintain external areas.
- Monitor and report on inventory levels of cleaning materials, tools, consumables, and furniture, and assist with reordering as required.
- Support waste management across the site, including recycling and safe disposal of general and special waste.
- Assist with weather-related duties such as gritting during icy conditions and clearing leaves or debris from walkways.
- Attend regular facilities team meetings and contribute to ongoing site improvements.
- Support office moves and space refits, including furniture relocation and ensuring power access as needed.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in line with NGUKL policies, procedures and UK Health & Safety legislation.
- Provide support to other NGUKL locations as required and directed by facilities team leadership.
Essential Qualifications / Experience
- Must have the ability to acquire and maintain UK SC clearance
- Must have demonstrable previous experience in a similar role
- City and Guilds Handyman course, Level 3 Certificate in building installation and property maintenance skills or NVQ level 2 Diploma in Building maintenance multi trade repair and refurbishment operations.
