Working on a major Retail contract
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for capital works, PPM reactive works projects.
- Using advanced Excel spreadsheets to build cost models and analyse tender returns.
- Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and ensure cost accuracy.
- Working closely with the commercial and operational teams to ensure tenders are aligned with delivery capability.
- Attending tender review meetings, contributing to bid presentations, and supporting post-tender negotiations.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market rates, materials, and labour costs across the retail maintenance sector.
- Supporting the development of standard pricing libraries and continuous improvement in estimating processes.
- Taking off quantities, reviewing specifications, and interpreting drawings to produce accurate pricing submissions.
- Proven experience as an Estimator within Capital, PPM, reactive maintenance, or property services.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, including data analysis, formula building, and cost modelling.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to interpret specifications and tender documents.
- Excellent written and numerical accuracy with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with clients and supply chain partners.
- Ability to manage multiple quotes simultaneously and work to tight deadlines.
- A positive, collaborative approach and a desire to develop within a reputable, forward-thinking contractor.
