About the role

About the Role We are looking for a dynamic Employee Relations Advisor who loves to help their business managers to solve issues, create a collaborative working environment and give employees a great reason to work for Bidfood. This role will keep you on your toes, even whilst you are a homeworker. You will be the point of contact for all complex ER cases, and you will need to be an expert in Employment Law in order to ensure the company and the employee are looked after well with your advice. You will work from home and so must be a self-starter
  • Act as a dedicated advisor to varying ER cases across Bidcorp following an end to end
process.
  • Be SME for stakeholders to provide specialist employee relations advice and support
services in both informal and formal settings.
  • Ensure the use of correct ER templates and guides and coach people managers on the
quality of completion of these guides.
  • Support People Managers with the completion of ER outcome letters including but not
limited to dismissals, appeals and grievances
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders across Bidfood to promote good employee
relations across the organisation
  • Maintain and manage an accurate case log and efile management to provide data analytics
to the business to support decision making
  • Keep up to date with and communicate forthcoming legislative changes in good time for
changes to be made / implemented, updating standards where necessary
  • Upskill people managers in their ability to manage employee relations cases, developing
line manager expertise specifically in managing disciplinary, grievance, fair treatment,
capability and performance related issues through to appeal
  • Where cases are concluded, support line managers with the processing of relevant changes
to conclusion. This may involve collaborating with HR services and Payroll functions.
  • Support change management processes as required by the business ensuring risk
management throughout and successful delivery
  • Ensure external legal costs are carefully managed, and advice is used appropriately and risks
to budget escalated to Head of ER Job Requirements
  • CIPD level 5 preferred
  • Sound knowledge and practical application of current UK employment law procedures and
processes.
  • Strong organisational capability, able to meet deadlines and manage large volumes of work
  • Developed interpersonal skills and able to demonstrate strong personal credibility to persuade
and influence site/dept. management on ER related activity
  • Ability to make sound judgement, ensuring balanced advice that manages risk but drives end
results
  • Ability to provide on the spot advice through various communication channels
  • A customer driven, collaborative and hands-on approach able to identify pragmatic, business
focused solutions to problems, ability to see the bigger picture and think through the wider
implications of actions
  • Enthusiastic and positive approach
  • Efficient and effective user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills - able to produce
spreadsheets and presentations
  • Experience of HR database systems and reporting functions and ability to review statistical data
and interpret to provide management information
  • Able to cope under pressure and prioritise demands
  • Able to work outside of core hours to the needs of the business
  • Ability to deliver presentations to groups
  • Experience of working with a dispersed customer base
  • Will take ownership of case work from end to end or successful handover as require
You will be part of a small team who are a great support and constantly bounce ideas off each other. Our service runs from 9am - 10pm and in this role you will work a 12-8pm for your typical day, but as the team covers each other and supports our evening shift managers there will be times when you will need to be flexible. We are flexible in return and this is a truly flexible role. This role will see you take Managers knowledge and skills to the next level.
