After completing our unique training programme, you’ll use your healthcare skills to assess people applying for PIP or WCA benefits and write complete, clear, fair, and accurate reports as part of the Department for Work and Pensions’ Health Assessment and Advisory Service (HAAS).
Our role offers you a great opportunity to take your career in a new direction while still using your clinical knowledge and develop your clinical registration, skills and knowledge. It also offers a structured Monday to Friday schedule.
We also offer lots of opportunities for growth and development within PFAS, team including Clinical coaching, training roles, and Clinical management roles.
Position:
As a Disability Assessor, you will play a crucial role in interviewing claimants to understand the challenges they face. By completing thorough assessments and examinations via telephone, video call, or face-to-face means you will assess how our claimant’s disability/condition/illness impacts their functional ability on daily activities in a respectful, non-biased and reassuring manner.
Salary: £39,500
Type: Permanent (Hybrid)
Full time: 37.5 hours (9am - 5pm/Monday - Friday)
With proven experience of working within a medical background you will;

- Analyse information critically to create accurate and concise reports.
- Interpret clinical information and evidence.
- Maintain professional standards in written communication and adherence to code of conduct.
- Provide positive experiences for claimants and colleagues, meeting quality and productivity targets.
- A minimum of 12 months of clinical experience as a qualified healthcare professional (listed below)
- An ability to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge.
- Previous experience in using computer software including Microsoft Office
Essentials Qualifications (without These Your Application Cannot Be Considered)
Nurses:
- Qualified Nurse RGN, or RMN/RNLD
- Member of the Royal College of Nursing (RCN)
- Qualified Chartered Physiotherapist or Qualified Occupational Therapist
- Member of the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP) or College of OT’s (COT)
A minimum of 12 months HCPC or NMC experience.
- Orthopaedic experience (acute and elective)
- Pre-assessment experience (surgical/orthopaedic)
- Experience working with patients with both mental health and physical problems and Neurological settings.
- Broad range of experience in different areas as would have more clinical knowledge
- Worked in ITU units
