A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant (part time or full time) to support delivery of our Public Health Dietetic Service in the Wrexham and Flintshire areas of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
The Dietetic Assistant will work with the Dietitians and fellow team members to support implementation, delivery and evaluation of best practice in relation to Public Health Nutrition, working as an integral member of, and in partnership with multi-agency community teams. You will work with an established team dedicated to providing quality assured food and nutrition programmes and activities as part of Nutrition Skills for Life TM . The successful candidate will work alongside our existing dietetic support worker to deliver award winning courses and sessions in the community, such as ‘Come and Cook with your Child’, ‘Come and Cook’, and ‘Eat Smart Save Better’.
You will also be part of the wider dietetics department, joining an enthusiastic and friendly team delivering services in acute, primary care, and public health.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support and assist the dietetics team in implementing prevention focused food and nutrition programmes across Wrexham and Flintshire. This includes delivery of nutrition education and practical cooking courses to a variety of community groups.
As a Dietetic Assistant, the post holder will have specific responsibilities in carrying out delegated public health activities independently with selected dietetic service users in the community, working under regular supervision of Registered Dietitians, and proactively supporting the Dietitians with appropriate clerical and administrative duties.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
