Job Description
This role is to fulfil a requirement for an onsite skilled 3rd Line infrastructure engineer to work as part of a team managing the infrastructure and working with a Cyber Security team at a fixed Customer site based in Yeovil, Somerset.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure and assist in the support of security systems to ensure meet service level agreements. In addition, the role will also require liaising with a remote Cyber Security team and working to instruction.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure and assist in the support of security systems to ensure meet service level agreements. In addition, the role will also require liaising with a remote Cyber Security team and working to instruction.
The Successful Candidate
- May be required to go on 24x7 "On-call" support rotation
- Have a valid UK driving license
- Must be SC Cleared or eligible and prepared to attain SC Clearance
Required competencies:
- A good understanding and experience of network infrastructure, inc. Cisco switches and routers, HP Aruba switches, Cisco Wireless Controller and Access Points
- A good understanding and experience of Firewall technologies
- A good understanding and experience of working with VPN technologies
- Knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure technologies, inc. Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NPS
- Work with SOC engineers to assist with Security remediation tasks and changes
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of help desk system and managing service requests / incidents / problems
- Respond to users with set service level agreements (SLA’s)
- Provide 3rd line technical support and assist 1st/2nd line support resolution
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet agreed build standards
- Ability to explain technical concepts and provide guidance to the Customer
- Ability to write technical documentation for all aspects of the technical infrastructure
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Network support experience, inc. Cisco and HP
- Firewall maintenance and administration experience
- An understanding of VPN IPSEC & SSL
- A good knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure services
- Strong interpersonal, facilitation skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Ability to work as part of an onsite team and also work with a remote team
- Good project management skills
- Network monitoring tools and performance monitoring (Nagios, Cacti, NeDi)
- ITIL certification.
