  • Suffolk County Council
  • Address: Ipswich County Library, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 3DE - Hybrid
  • Salary: £25,185 per annum (pro rata)

At Suffolk County Council, every role is an opportunity to make a positive difference. As a Databank Administrator within Suffolk Community Libraries, you’ll help tackle digital exclusion, supporting residents to access mobile data and essential online services.

You’ll play a key role in delivering the National Databank, working with partners and communities to ensure people who need support can stay connected. If you’re organised, people-focused and motivated to make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Reimagine the possibilities.

Your role and responsibilities

Suffolk Community Libraries are an official Digital Inclusion Hub, delivering the National Databank. Often described as a ‘foodbank for mobile data’, the scheme provides free SIM cards to people who cannot otherwise access the internet.

In this varied role, you’ll support the day-to-day administration and delivery of the National Databank, alongside wider business support activities across the service.

You will:

  • administer the National Databank, including coordinating referrals, distribution of SIM cards, and working with suppliers and partners
  • liaise with recipients and partner organisations to gather feedback and help measure impact
  • support the promotion of the Databank internally and externally
  • maintain accurate records, databases and mailing lists, and assist with reporting
  • provide administrative and financial support, including processing invoices and maintaining spreadsheets
  • organise meetings, prepare documentation and support team communications

You’ll work both independently and as part of a wider team, helping to deliver an efficient, customer-focused service.

You can view a full list of requirements in the Job and Person Profile (JPP), which you can find in the ‘How to apply’ section towards the bottom of this advert.

If you believe you can succeed in this role, apply. Even if you don't meet all requirements, still apply. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application.

The team

You’ll be part of Suffolk Community Libraries within the Public Health, Communities and Public Safety directorate, working with partners across Suffolk to improve outcomes and reduce inequalities.

The team is collaborative, supportive and committed to improving access to services, particularly through digital inclusion initiatives. You’ll have opportunities to learn, develop and contribute to meaningful work that supports Suffolk residents.

Although this role is hybrid there will be an expectation to travel to a library.

We want to represent the diverse communities we serve. We welcome applications from all individuals, especially those from groups that are currently underrepresented in the organisation, as shown in our Workforce Equality Report.
