This is the job

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Platform Developer to join our Data & Analytics team.

You’ll be responsible for the design and implementation of technology within specific work package components, in line with defined technical frameworks. You will create detailed technical solution architecture documents and ensure designed components meet project requirements.

What will I be doing?

  • Design: Develop BI, Analytics, and Engineering technology components aligned with technical solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work with a wide range of engineering resources to ensure high standards in end-to-end infrastructure design.
  • Preparation: Embed technical frameworks into the data team, including key design decisions and recommendations.
  • Development: Implement designs, develop, plan, modify, and improve data operational solutions.
  • Research: Stay updated with data technology solutions and propose enhancements.
  • Governance: Participate in design reviews and technical meetings, driving improvements in current processes and practices.

What do I need?

  • Experience with Azure, including data storage, security, networking, monitoring, and management services.
  • Understanding of Databricks, including engineering methodologies, cost management, scheduling, and data storage.
  • Architecting cloud solutions to support a data-driven business using analytical and visualisation approaches, and knowledge of Data Sharing capabilities with security considerations.
  • Operating within an Engineering, Agile, and DevOps environment, and using tools like Git and Jira.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and influencing capabilities, and the ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and timescales across a virtual, technical, cross-functional team.
  • High integrity, clear-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with leadership abilities, enthusiasm for using data to drive an organisation, and a results-oriented mindset with a strong eye for detail and commercial focus.
