Due to expansion of the service, an excellent opportunity has arisen for nurses to develop professionally within the TASC Research Nurse Service.
The main focus of this post is to support Clinical Research studies across Clinical Research facilities in Ninewells Hospital and in the Gannochy Trust Clinical Research Suite, Perth Royal Infirmary
Research nursing is a patient focused speciality and essential to the development of new treatments and healthcare. Under the supervision and with the support of the clinical research team, you will be responsible for the day to day management and conduct of commercial and non-commercial clinical research studies; this includes Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products.
The post-holder will manage a caseload of patients participating in research studies and clinical trials across a variety of therapeutic areas, providing them with the highest quality nursing care and ensuring that the research is carried out in adherence with clinical trials regulations, research governance and ICH Good Clinical Practice. This will involve screening, recruiting, educating, providing direct clinical care, and monitoring participants in studies as well as the collation and documentation of study data.
Applicants will have an understanding of research within the NHS and post registration clinical experience. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is proven ability to be an effective team member. The post involves working closely with both the research team and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will also be able to work to achieve study targets and have strong organisational and IT skills.
This post offers the opportunity to develop new clinical skills, knowledge and professional skills in clinical research nursing and the management of clinical trials.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC Register
