Study Assistant Opportunity at the University of Dundee

Make a meaningful impact on students lives by joining our team as a Study Assistant at the University of Dundee. We are seeking dedicated individuals to support students with disabilities (including hearing and vision impairments, physical disabilities, and Specific Learning Differences).

As a Study Assistant, you will empower students to become more independent, facilitate their academic success, and foster an inclusive learning environment. Play a crucial role in helping students thrive in their higher education journey.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide encouragement and support to students adapting to university:level academics.
  • Help students maintain their motivation.
  • Facilitate students transition to university life by explaining routines.
  • Support the development of independence and communication skills with peers and staff.
  • Assist students in implementing strategies for managing workload, organization, and time.
  • Communicate with Randstad and the Disability Support team (when necessary) regarding student progress, support needs, or well:being.

What We Are Looking For

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Understanding of the Higher Education environment.
  • Awareness of the challenges disabled individuals may face in higher education.
  • Significant experience and skill in working with disabled people.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to equal opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and punctuality.
  • Good organizational abilities.
  • Understanding of confidentiality protocols.
  • Awareness of professional boundaries.
