Business Support Assistant

As our Business Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of business operations within a busy Engineering Consultancy. Working closely with the Business Manager, you’ll contribute to a wide range of administrative and project-based tasks, including the implementation of a new ERP system. This is a varied and hands-on role requiring excellent attention to detail, initiative, and a professional attitude.
More about the role:
- Provide comprehensive business and HR administration support across the organisation
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including the distribution of policies, toolbox talks, and equipment
- Update and maintain internal databases, HR systems, and training records
- Monitor the expiry and renewal of employee qualifications and certifications
- Support with the implementation of internal projects (e.g. new ERP system)
- Handle asset management – logging and distributing office equipment and materials
- Maintain confidentiality and data security across all administrative functions
- Liaise with staff across departments to ensure compliance and policy adherence
About you:
- Familiarity with all Microsoft Office packages
- Highly organised with a reliable, methodical, and diligent work ethic
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be comfortable in dealing with change
Desirable Skills
- Previous HR administration experience
- Experience supporting business transformation projects (e.g. ERP systems)
- Previous administrative experience in the construction, utilities, or gas sector
