Location: Rosemount Community Centre, Aberdeen

Duration: Fixed Term, Part Time

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

Job Purpose/about The Role

Promote adult learning opportunities to individuals and communities

Assess the learning needs of individuals and groups

Improve the literacy, numeracy, ICT and English language skills of participants on adult learning programmes

The Post Holder Needs To Hold As a Minimum

  • PVG Membership for Regulated Work with Protected Adults or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made

The Postholder Is Able To Demonstrate

  • An ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with adult learners
  • Being able to communicate clearly and effectively with adult learners
  • An ability to be creative and show initiative
  • Very good organisational skills
  • An ability to work with people from different organisations
  • An ability to support people who have barriers to their learning
  • IT skills for keeping records and presenting reports when required
  • An ability to be flexible and adapt approaches and styles for different individuals and groups
