Role Purpose

To provide a cost-effective and customer-focused service by carrying out the servicing, repair, and general engineering of plant and equipment. This includes both planned and reactive maintenance to ensure all plant assets meet operational, technical, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Engineering

  • Service, repair, and maintain company plant and equipment both on-site and in the yard.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults with minimal supervision.
  • Perform preventative and planned maintenance in line with schedules and regulations.
  • Carry out welding, fabrication, and minor repairs as required.
  • Ensure all plant is issued in serviceable condition, or with limitations clearly identified.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair activities.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Take personal responsibility for the health and safety of self and others.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and promptly report hazards or incidents.
  • Support pollution prevention and control procedures and promote environmental best practices.
  • Report environmental incidents and adhere to recycling and energy-saving initiatives.

Quality Assurance

  • Comply with the company’s quality management system (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Strive for “right first time” results to foster a culture of efficiency and quality.
  • Report any failures or deficiencies in the quality system without delay.

Essential

Qualifications & Experience

  • Formal qualification in vehicle and/or plant repair.
  • CSCS Card.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems (hydraulics, electrics, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Basic IT literacy (Microsoft Office – intermediate level).

Desirable

  • Welding experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards.
