Think Accountancy and Finance are supporting a new client in Aylesbury in the recruitment of an Interim Management Accountant. This role is an ongoing temporary position until March 2023. This is an ideal position for someone in the latter stages of their Qualification or someone who is already Qualified ACCA or CIMA.

The role will be to provide accounting and financial guidance as well as the production of the monthl P&L, Balance Sheet and Management Accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Financial Controller in the preparation of the P&L & Balance Sheet
  • Ensure accurate recording of costs in accordance with accounting practice and principles, including the reconciliation of Accrued Income/WIP.
  • Production of finance reports, for Senior Management, including the monthly contract / management accounts pack.
  • Liaise with the Commercial Team to ensure the accurate recording of costs
  • Support the business in key finance areas, focusing on process improvement
  • Support with internal / external audits
  • Support in preparation of the annual budget and quarterly reviews.
  • Support the business in the regular forecasting
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and modelling and other decision support activities where required by the business.
  • Manage the current position of debt with analysis.

Our client is looking for the following:

  • Finalist / Newly Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience in management accounting role, producing P&L's and Balance Sheets
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and processes
  • Experience in the preparation and monitoring of financial reports, annual budgets and forecasts
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and business partnering skills
  • Ability to present financial information to non-financial management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to show continual improvement in a management accountant role in the organisational context
  • Proficient in the use of accounting software packages
  • Advanced level use of Excel
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.

This is a temporary/interim position so only candidates immediately available or on short notice will be considered.
