The Role


We are looking for someone to join the PR & Communications team for a fixed term, to help support some key initiatives over the coming weeks and months.


Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a sound level of product knowledge (at least WSET Level 2), a creative, individual approach to work and be highly self motivated.


The PR & Communications team are responsible for representing different aspects of Majestic (people, product, strategy and culture) through various channels, including via press releases, social media, wine reviews and internal communications.


The role sits within the Executive Team area of the business, and this would be an ideal first role for anyone wishing to further their career and development in communications and PR


Key Responsibilities:


The successful candidate will support the Head of PR & Communications in the execution of a number of key initiatives, including;


  • Supplying samples, images and recommendations to some of the biggest names in wine journalism,

  • Communicating these reviews to the wider business, submitting and monitoring wines into awards,

  • Supporting other departments with communications support,

  • Helping to draft and create key internal communications (including We Are Majestic, the monthly business updates and the Managers Conference),

  • Providing content and ideas for our Social Media channels,

  • Helping to develop our product press desk and events (even during COVID) and other ad-hoc opportunities.

  • Looking at how we can restart and improve our events programme; for both internal and external events.


Knowledge & Skills Required:


  • Minimum of 2 years PR & Events experience working in Retail and/or Wine and Spirits industry

  • WSET Level 2 Qualified or higher, desirable

  • Highly organised, with a proven track record of prioritising workload to meet deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

  • Personable, proactive and strong skills at building and maintaining key relationships with journalists, suppliers and colleagues

  • Knowledge of wine, beer and spirits, and indeed the Majestic range is desirable but not essential.

  • Has an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Location: Our Head Office is based in Watford, just 20 minutes from London Euston. From Watford Junction, we are a 15-minute walk to our Head Office
