The School is seeking to recruit an ambitious staff member with an active interest in teaching, research and enterprise. The School includes a range of undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher training (ITT) courses in early years, primary, secondary and post compulsory education. For this post we require a History specialist who has experience of teaching in UK schools. The post holder will teach on our PGCE and UG ITT courses and will undertake school visits. In addition they will teach on our part-time education undergraduate degree, the BA Applied Education Studies. As the course is part-time and designed for those already working in education the course has day and evening groups, therefore the successful post holder must be available for evening work. The post holder will play a key role in supporting and delivering a range of education units across a range of ITE courses. A specialism in History education is required.
You will require knowledge and understanding of national and international perspectives and areas of contemporary research and development in the field of education. You will have a doctorate, or substantial teaching/professional experience, and a publication record commensurate with your grade and role.
