We’re looking for an experienced HR Administrator to support all aspects of HR. In this varied role you’ll be able to apply your skillset to everything from new starter inductions to holiday and absence management, employee relations and leaver processes




As the largest electrical contractor serving the new-build housing sector, we operate nationwide, wiring over 24,000 homes a year. With 850 staff spread around the country, maintaining slick HR operations and a responsive service for staff enquiries is certainly a challenge but our people-focused, well organised team, is always determined to rise to it




Based at our Staverton HQ (midway between Cheltenham and Gloucester) as part of a team of five, you’ll find that no two days are the same. Of course, there are many daily administrative tasks but we’re looking for someone to help us streamline these and buy time for shifting the balance towards completing more value added work. We’re focused on continually improving how we operate and you’ll need to be too




As you’d expect in the construction sector, we’re an early start business. Working hours are 39 hours a week, starting no later than 8.00am (Monday to Friday) and finishing early on Fridays




After a year when Covid has presented new challenges for us just like most businesses, this is a great time to join our recently restructured team and grow with us long-term. You’ll need to be able to hit the ground running though so significant HR administration experience is required.


Responsibilities

  • Producing and issuing formal HR correspondence such as new starter packs, disciplinary letters and leaver notifications, referring to templates but applying initiative and HR expertise to tailor communications as necessary


  • Responding to a wide range of staff enquiries as the first point of contact, taking pride in developing a strong all-round knowledge of our policies and procedures so that only complex enquiries need to be escalated


  • Taking full ownership of routine processes such as inductions and the leaver process, reviewing and updating communications regularly and co-ordinating arrangements with all parties concerned


  • Assisting with formal HR meetings, ranging from note taking to playing a more active role


  • Preparing performance review forms in response to managers’ requests, populating them with individual data from attendance and HR records


  • Updating employee records, including changes to personal and job-related details


  • Providing cover for our Recruitment Advisor, liaising with candidates and hiring managers



  • Required Experience

    Significant HR administration experience is required.


    Required Education

    Preferably educated to degree level or at least A level, with excellent GCSEs in maths and English. Strong IT skills are essential (Microsoft Word, Excel and ideally PowerPoint). CIPD qualifications are desirable.
