Torus Foundation, part of Torus Group, are looking for passionate and enthusiastic Youth Workers to join the team at FireFit Youth & Community Hub and help support young people to thrive, develop confidence and reach their full potential. FireFit is a vibrant and inclusive community hub providing a safe and welcoming environment for young people aged 6–21. Working as part of our dedicated Youth Team, you will help deliver engaging activities, build positive relationships with young people and support their participation in informal educational, recreational and developmental programmes.
We currently have 3 part-time opportunities available:
- 2 x 15-hour posts
- 1 x 20-hour post

What You Will Be Doing:
- Delivering engaging and varied youth activities and programmes
- Supporting young people on a one-to-one and group basis
- Encouraging participation, confidence building and social development
- Supporting youth voice activities and ensuring young people help shape programmes and activities
- Welcoming young people into the Hub and supporting reception duties during youth sessions
- Supporting recreational, sports, creative arts and personal development activities
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment
- Completing accurate records including safeguarding, incident and accident reports
- Supporting safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times
- Helping increase youth engagement, attendance and membership across the Hub
What We Are Looking For:
- Level 2 Youth Work qualification or relevant experience
- Experience supporting children and young people in group or one-to-one settings
- Ability to build positive professional relationships with young people
- Experience managing challenging behaviour and understanding conflict management approaches
- Passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence working with groups of children and young people
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities when working with children and vulnerable groups
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- First Aid qualification or willingness to work towards this
Interview Process:
- Candidates will be invited to attend an interview, which will include a competency-based discussion exploring relevant experience, knowledge, and skills required for the role. Interviews will take place on Monday 22nd June and Tuesday 23rd June at FireFit Youth & Community Hub

Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:

- Qualification certificate check (where applicable)
- Two completed references
- Occupational Health questionnaire – Fit for Work
- DBS check (if required for the role)
