Location – Thurrock
Hours – 37.5 – Monday – Friday (some evening work may be required)
Salary / Band – £27,000 + £683.99 outer fringe per annum

Summary
Working within a multi-disciplinary team based in Thurrock, the Young Person’s Targeted Intervention Worker will work with young people, families and professionals in the community to raise awareness and provide specialised support around substance misuse across a variety of settings. You will work with young people to help them understand the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse, supporting them to make informed decisions, and encourage and increase referrals into the service.

Although this role is based in our Southend Centre, we have an optional blended approach between office and home working for the majority of our roles, after completion of probation.
What you need
– To have relevant professional qualification i.e. Youth and Community, Counselling, Social Work or NVQ3 Health and Social Care or equivalent and/or have experience of working within substance misuse service with a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality services.
– To be able evidence relevant training, understanding and knowledge of low intensity psychosocial interventions including Motivational interviewing (MI) and Node-link mapping.
– Understanding of issues relating to substance and misuse and young people and the principles of harm minimisation.
This position is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service at Enhanced Adult/Child level
Pay: £27,683.99 per year
