Job Description
An exciting opportunity for a Stock Controller – PM shift (2pm – 10pm), working in our distribution centre for the Waitrose contract in Greenford, Middlesex. This role will be accountable for stock accuracy and on-shelf availability across the newly created CFC site. In line with the Wincanton goals of devolving our people and growing our company this role will operate within the Stock Department. The successful candidates will be responsible for the effective and efficient stock Management of our customer products across a multi temperature environment.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain overall stock & pick location accuracy across warehouse, physically & systemically
- Optimise layout in accordance with seasonal or range changes
- Ensure location information is up to date and accurate, e.g. naming conventions, racking labels, assigned SKUs
- Support Stock & Systems Manager in leading stock control & compliance across all functions & shifts
- Carry out stock rotation activities
- Provide troubleshooting support for stock queries
- Ensure sure paperwork is correctly filled out
- Updating stock information on computer systems, invoice processing
- Making sure orders are despatched on time
- Carrying out spot checks and audits
- Organising routine stock takes with the warehouse team and reconciling stock
- Ownership and upkeep of product master data
- Auditing stock movements across warehouse and resolving any discrepancies
- New product and barcode set up
- Collaborating with the warehouse team on stock replenishment, repacking requirements and stock levels of consumables in the warehouse
- Reporting on slow moving or short dated stock
- Collaboration with the wider team to continually improve systems and processes
- Ensure all Legal, Health and Safety, Food Safety and Operational procedures are always adhered to ensure the safety of self and others. Wincanton - Internal Report any injuries, accidents and any Health and Safety issues.
- Adhering to procedures and practises according to the training received.
- To participate and be involved in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Attend regular communication meetings and communicating any operational issues to the Management team.
- To keep up to date with Partnership news by reading notice boards and the Partnership’s editorials.
- To ensure all Personnel procedures are adhered to, including all mandatory training completed as required. Experience, Skills, and Attributes:
- Stock Control experience is essential for this role – a minimum of 2 year experience would be ideal
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Applications (excel, word)
- Results orientated and can work to schedules.
- Able to lift heavy items up to 20kg and handle goods.
- Has a good degree of literacy and numeracy.
- Understands the basics of Health and Safety procedures.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Has the ability to accept and adapt to change.
- Proactive in approach
